Meet Thea
Thea Mundy is a 25 year old indie-pop singer/songwriter based in Brooklyn, New York. Inspired by the likes of Maggie Rogers, Phoebe Bridgers and Taylor Swift, she became an active guitarist, songwriter and performer at age 15. Considering herself to be a writer before anything else, drawing from personal experience is a major strength for Thea. Her songs refuse to shy away from the details of her own experiences, discussing themes of queer relationships/heartbreak, the struggle to accept change when it’s unpredictable, and the immense personal growth that accompanies living through your early/mid 20’s.
Thea also takes pride in producing her own music, which is evident on her debut album Frame By Frame. Credited for writing, producing, arranging, mixing and mastering all 8 tracks independently, Thea experimented with multiple genres throughout the record including indie rock, acoustic/electronic pop, and R&B. With varied arrangements that alternate between layered electric guitars, piano-based power ballads, or delicate strings, Frame By Frame has something for music lovers of all sorts to enjoy. Thea hopes that her music will inspire her listeners to be fearless in expressing themselves in the world around them, and to empower their sense of confidence when setting out to make their own goals and dreams a reality. Frame By Frame was officially released on streaming platforms on March 12, 2021.
In November 2022, Thea re-released a newly reimagined version of her song "Obsessed" from Frame By Frame that she co-produced alongside London based producer Nathan Cox, whose previous production credits include the likes of rising queer indie-pop songwriters Orla Gartland, Rachael Jenkins and Sammy Copley. With a centralized rhythmic acoustic guitar line and dreamy layered vocals, this latest arrangement has achieved Thea's personal goal of accurately reflecting how the song has always sounded in her head five years after first writing it. "Obsessed" is available now wherever you stream music.
